Dog Training

Have a veteran train your dog

Ranger dog training has started a new program. Veterans that have gone through our program will have the opportunity to take part in our program and learn how to become a dog trainer. They will go through an intense training class. This will help our veterans start a new career in the dog training field. Each training program will be set up as a donation. Part of the contribution will go to Ranger service dogs training and a portion will go to the veteran.

One on One training. Donation $475.00

Private Lessons for training are customized for your individual needs.Ranger Dog Training will walk you through a step by step program that will last a lifetime for your dog!

We will keep it simple for you and your dog. Find out if this is the right program for you and your family.

Private lessons work because we focus on your dog’s state of mind. A strong line of communication and a healthy relationship are the result. This program covers any issues during walks (lunging, barking, pulling, etc.) and basic obedience commands on-leash (sit/stay, down/ wait, place, recall). We will also address behavior problems, such as jumping up, mouthing, nipping, counter surfing or any other issues you might be experiencing. We will work on the state of mind of your dog. Most Problems are just side effects of the real Issues. You will see a significant change in your dog. Time and time again people give a dog ultimate freedom without realizing that this is the opposite of what a dog wants. Remember dogs are pack animals. Just like a wolf pack where the mother tells the cubs what to do, when to eat, where to sleep ETC. Dogs want you to tell them what to do, and if you’re not doing that, they will be lost!

What this program will help with:

  • Bratty Behavior
  • Over-excited energy
  • Jumping
  • Counter surfing
  • Pulling on the Leash
  • Chewing
  • Nipping
  • Many more

This program is perfect for a dog that isn’t dealing with significant behavioral issues and just needs a bit of a tune-up.

What will you learn:

Sit Place

Down crate trained

Come and much more.

The first 2-hour session is a consultation, assessment, and hands-on training for you and your dog. You will begin to see dramatic changes in your dog’s behavior within this first session. The next five meetings are 1 hour each, where we will continue to work hands-on with you and your dog on all of the above behaviors. Be ready–there will be homework! It is of utmost importance that the training is worked on diligently between sessions, by the whole family. Ultimately YOU are the dog trainer, as you will be working with your dog daily to ensure the knowledge and application of these commands! We want you to be as excited about your dog’s transformation as we are, and we need everyone involved and on-board!

  • 5 Sessions
  • The first session is 2 hours

If you are looking for complete off-leash training for your dog, ask about the extended program combining Private Sessions AND the E-collar Intensive! In a total of 15 sessions, your dog could be completely off-leash trained!

Board and Train Programs

With the Board and Train programs, your dog will stay with me and my family for whatever amount of time that you choose. Your dog will live with us as a family pet, and not be put into a stressful facility with dozens of dogs. Your dog will be treated as if he or she is our own, and most know what kind of life our dogs live. Your dogs will receive several training sessions throughout the day with me as well as plenty of structured playtime and at least one nightly walk throughout your dogs stay. Your dog will most likely be the only one staying with us since I usually only take one at a time. When your dog is done with my program, I will then meet with you, the owner, for three private sessions to show you how to not only maintain what was learned but to actually continue the process. The first private session will be at the time that you pick up your dog. I can guarantee that there is no place anywhere else that can treat your dog better. My reputation will back that. While your dog is here, there will be no yelling, no screaming, and no harsh tactics. Your dog will enjoy their stay. I promise.

Pick-up & Drop-off Agreement

Board and Train dogs will be picked up & dropped off by the client unless other arrangements have been made. All Board & Train programs include 6 hours of private training at our facility. The 6 hours typically works out to: (1) 2-hour mid-training session; (1) 2-hour pick-up training session; and (2) 1-hour follow-up training sessions.

At the mid- and pick-up sessions, we will go over all that your dog has learned and work with you on how to start implementing the training into your daily life.

Follow-up lessons are provided to help ease the transition of your dog back into your home and to help you maintain the high standard for behavior we have at our kennel.

When bringing your dog for a Board and Train, all we need is your dog's food and any medication your dog needs, including flea/tick and/or heart worm (only if they need to be given to your dog while your dog is with us.)

Do NOT bring any bedding, toys, water/food bowls, treats or bones!

Drop-off Agreement

When dropping off your dog at our facility, you will need to stick to the exact time that we agreed upon. We are a working kennel so the staff are busy working dogs in between appointments. Therefore, we pull staff off of training to meet and greet you to make sure your dog gets onto the property safe and securely.

Upon arrival, your dog must be on a leash/collar setup from which they cannot slip out of when going from your car to our property and during the hand-off to the staff member. Your dog may be nervous, scared or excited and any of those things can lead to your dog escaping the collar and running off or around the property, which is a safety issue for the dog, the staff and other dogs on the property.

When you arrive, you will hand off the dog to a staff member. You are NOT to hug, kiss, bend down or use a high-pitch voice at all. Instead, please just hand off the leash to the staff member. Not following these instructions can jeopardize the safety of the staff member.

The staff member will bring the dog back to the kennel and put him/her in the kennel.

You may leave food and medication and any further instructions with the front desk staff.

We do not allow non-employees into the actual kennel as we have numerous dogs with serious issues, and it will create an unsafe environment for all of the dogs as well as staff and yourself.

Please initial that you have read these terms and Agree to this Pick-up/Drop-off Agreement.* *

Physical Activity Agreement

Your dog will be staying at a working kennel and not living in a padded room. Your dog spends a good amount of time in the outside world doing lots of things around lots of natural objects, dirt, grass, cement, trees, fencing, bushes, swimming, interacting with lots of other dogs, and humans. It is likely that your dog is going to get scratched, bumped, or bruised. Your dog will most likely get some wear and tear on him/her. Imagine when you went to summer camp for a few weeks, you get a little banged up from all of the activities. Things are bound to happen even though we have taken special care in designing our facility and maintaining a high standard of safety and cleanliness.

As Owner, you acknowledge and understand that there are certain risks involved in pet training, boarding, and care. You release, indemnify, and agree to hold Ranger service dog Training harmless from any and all manner of damages, claims, loss, liabilities, costs or expenses, causes of actions or suits, whatsoever in law or equity, (including, without limitation, attorney’s fees and related costs) arising out of or related to the services provided by Ranger Service Dog Training.
